The Warsaw-Lublin Brass Band was founded in 2017 in Warsaw. The inspiration for its creation was the traditional music of brass bands of the Lublin and Roztocze – both existing ones (such as Brass Band from Zdziłowice or Brass Band from Goraj) and those that already belong to history (such as Radzięcin or Łada orchestras). WLOD (if you used the abbreviation) is based on their repertoire using both old notebooks and writing scores from archival recordings. In the repertoire you will find traditional podróżniak, polka, oberek as well as foxtrots, waltzes, tango and marches. The orchestra aims primarily to play dance music with great power but also with musical elegance and has got an ambition to organize various events – from dancing to more solemn situations. Who knows, maybe even weddings in the future?
